Tom Gardner joined Danny to form The Uncle Brothers in 1998 after co-writing several tracks on Danny's "Don't Miss The Boat" CD for children. He has been a singer-song writer for many years but really found his niche after The Uncle Brothers were born, writing dozens of songs both with Danny and solo.
Tom began singing and writing children's music when his own kids (he has three) were in elementary school. This led to many great song ideas and to the beginning of his classroom workshops for creative song and lyric writing.
His song, "Rainbow" (Two Big Kids) won the KidSing 2001 songwriting contest (grand prize) and his other songs ("I Can", "When We're Happy We Laugh") won honorable mention in the 2002 John Lennon Songwriting contest.
Tom also performs for younger children (preschool to about 7 years old) solo and is known as 'TOMMY'. His solo CD "My Candy Tree" was released on Blackwater Records in 2003 and won the 2004 Parents Choice Award, Recommended. This holds a special place in his heart because Tom wrote the title track with his son, Jesse (7 at the time), and the majority of the ideas in the song were his son's. Congratulations Jesse!
His influences are CAT STEVENS, JIMMY BUFFETT, and BILLY JOEL.
Tom has appeared on WFUD, WRCR, WLIR, Rockland World Radio, and several local TV appearances.
